Google Nexus 6P Features
Here are some of the major new features Google introduced in its latest Nexus 6P smartphone:
Design
Nexus 6P is the first smartphone in the Google Nexus lineup that comes in a full metallic body. Huawei used the aeronautics-grade, anodized aluminum to manufacture the device. With its sculpted back and diamond-cut edges, the Nexus 6P looks a decent flagship device.
The device is also pretty thinner (only 0.29-inches) than the last generation Nexus 6, which was 0.4-inches thick. Google has introduced three color options for the Nexus 6P: frosted white, aluminum, and graphite.
Stunning Cameras
Rear camera
One of the most highlighted and admired features of Google Nexus 6P is its rear camera. Nexus 6P comes loaded with a 12.3-megapixel Sony sensor with f/2.0 lens and 1.55µm pixels. The device is said to be able to capture more light in low light environment. The device has a two-color LED flash and capable of taking quicker snaps – thanks to a laser auto-focus contraption. The rear camera is also capable of capturing 4K video @30fps and a slow-motion video @240fps. This is the first time Google’s Nexus lineup can record a slow motion video.
Front-facing camera
The previous generation of Nexus devices always came with a disappointing selfie camera. This is not the case with Nexus 6P. It comes with an 8megapixel front-facing camera capable of recording HD videos @30 frames per second.
Larger battery inside
The battery is one of the specs that user can never get enough of. And we’re glad to learn that Google has improved the battery specs of its Nexus 6P by featuring a larger 3,450 mAh cell inside the device. Combine this with Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s Doze, one can expect huge battery life improvements over last-gen Nexus 6.
Nexus Imprint
Google has finally introduced a fingerprinter sensor on the back of its Nexus 6P smartphone. Google calls it Nexus Imprint and it is said to be faster than Apple’s Touch ID. Google says that its fingerprint scanner learns the way you place your finger on it and it becomes smarter the more you use it.
USB Type-C
As rumored, Google latest Nexus 6P features a USB Type-C charging port and for that, there is a reversible charging cable inside the box of the device. It’s fast charging feature can give you seven hours of use after only ten minutes of charging.
Android Marshmallow
Like all of its predecessors, Google’s Nexus 6P will run on the best android software version available out there, which is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It will be bloatware free and the device, like any other Nexus device, will be the first in the world to receive Android updates straight from Google in the future.
